Rimi’s career started off as a Personal Services Financial Staff Officer, with The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC), Bangkok, Thailand. Her role focused on providing the utmost financial advice to walk-in customers as well as developing cross border business opportunities to the bank’s ethnic customers to achieve maximum wealth. Thus, Rimi solidified her status as a multi-tasker: customer relations expert as well as a personal financial advisor. Within a mere six months of starting, she was the youngest banker given the added responsibility to handle offshore banking. She shared her expertise through conducting Personal Banking Roadshow presentations at multinational companies in Thailand to expand the customer base of the bank.
At Citibank Thailand, Rimi focused on Retail Banking and Private Banking, before being transferred to Hong Kong to cover the Thai market. In her role as a Private Banker, she acquired new clients with minimum net worth of USD 10 MM. She created, managed, and conducted portfolio reviews for Thai clients. During the time, she was also engaged in marketing, new product developments and worked with the bank’s key wealth management partners to provide customized financial solutions to her clients. Throughout the plethora of hats, she wore, and contributions, Rimi made it to the Citibank, the Regional Chairman Council award in Hawaii presented her with the “Top Sales Achievement Award”. She was recognized as a top performer in the unit.
In 2010, Rimi joined Standard Chartered Bank, Thailand as the Vice President in the Priority Banking department heading a sales team to acquire mass affluent clients and help grow their wealth. She expanded the expatriate segment in the bank and increased the cross-border business of the bank. She was given the opportunity to work on many digitization and customer experience enhancement projects to improve customer service, simplify and automate work solutions.
Rimi The Person
After 20 years in the banking industry working for big multinational banks , it was time for Rimi to pioneer her own venture. Since 2016, she has been an Independent Wealth Planner, where she uses her acquired skills and insights to custom-tailor plans for all her clients. In her new role, as an Independent Wealth Planner she has the freedom to choose her clientele base, which includes Thai and Expatriate clients, Business owners and Corporate employees. Rimi’s key goal is to EDUCATE and advise people on the importance of personal financial planning so that they can prepare for a stress-free retirement life. She believes that people have different financial needs at each life stage which may be different for each person. Her clients age group are from 2 years to 70 years old. Rimi has helped many individuals and families with their Retirement, Family Protection, Tax, Health Protection and Education plans. Whatever their need, Rimi ensures that she can find a solution for them. She works with Key Wealth Management Partners both in Thailand and offshore.
It is through her dedication to her clients that Rimi earned the “Top Sales Achievement Award” and was promoted to Team Leader within just a year into her career at Citibank.
Rimi continued her award-winning work throughout her career and into her independent venture.
Rimi was recognized for being a Top Achiever in the life insurance and financial services space worldwide. She is a Qualified Member of “Million Dollar Round Table, Court of the Table 2019 & 2020 (MDRT)” , a Premier Association of Financial Professionals.
At a Regional Level, she has been selected to receive the “Asia Pacific Financial Services Award 2020 (APFinSA)” The Asia Pacific Financial Services Association (APFinSA) is the largest financial services council in Asia Pacific, represented by 9 member associations across Asia Pacific region, namely Australia, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
A multitasking overachiever, Rimi was also ranked in the Top 100 Insurance Agents in the National Agents Awards 2019& 2020 by the “Thai Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (THAIFA)”
She was also awarded the AIA Centennial MDRT Award and Premier Agent in 2019
Rimi is a highly qualified financial planner in Bangkok and holds several certifications including the Life Insurance Agent License No. 5901076613 and the Securities Investment Consultant License No. 018141. Both of which are highly sought after within Thailand and the industry.

She is also an esteemed member of the “Business Networking Organization (BNI)” , world’s leading referral organization. She is currently a member of “BNI Inspire” Chapter in Thailand. She has held the position of an event coordinator in the chapter.
Rimi graduated as an honors student from Mahidol University, Thailand with a Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She received student leadership and academic excellence awards from the university.
She completed her schooling in a boarding school at the foothills of the Himalayas in India. She is proficient in four languages: English, Thai, Hindi and Punjabi.
